El artículo investiga dos huelgas en la Patagonia argentina, ocurridas entre 1975 y 1976. Fueron procesos de lucha que conmocionaron las ciudades y regiones en las que se desarrollaron, que involucraron otros colectivos laborales y sufrieron una dura respuesta represiva por parte del Estado, que contó con el apoyo de las conducciones sindicales que formalmente representaban a los obreros en lucha. Se proponen debates relevantes para la historia reciente de Argentina y su historiografía: el rol de las direcciones gremiales en la represión contra el movimiento obrero combativo, las líneas de continuidad entre el gobierno constitucional pre-1976 y la dictadura, y las especificidades regionales de los mecanismos instrumentados por el sistema represivo. Se trabaja con diversas fuentes: prensa, documentos oficiales, entrevistas y relevamiento bibliográfico, entre otras.
In this investigation, we analyze two strikes developed in the Argentine Patagonia, between 1975 and 1976. These processes of struggle shocked the cities and regions in which took place, involving other labour groups and suffering a harsh repressive response from the State. It had the support of the union leaderships that formally represented the workers in struggle. The article proposes relevant debates for the recent history of Argentina and its historiography: the role of union leader in the repression against the struggling worker movement, the lines of continuity between the constitutional government before 1976 and the dictatorship, and the regional specificities of the mechanisms implemented by the repressive system. We use various sources: press, official documents, interviews and bibliographic survey, among others.
