La smartphonización de la vida social

Este artículo aborda los efectos sociales de una de las tecnologías con mayor difusión en los últimos tiempos: el smartphone. Hoy, la mayoría de los usuarios de Internet accede a la red a través de este pequeño dispositivo móvil. Sin embargo, en lugar de pensar, como se hace habitualmente, que el smartphone es nuestra vía de acceso a Internet, aquí se propone detener la atención en lo inverso: en el hecho de que los smartphones constituyen la vía de acceso de las corporaciones digitales a los sujetos, que constituimos su fuente de ganancias. Abrevando de la teoría social crítica, se indaga en uno de los correlatos más notables de la smartphonización de la vida social: la subsunción del sujeto y de su vida cotidiana al capital.
This article addresses the social effects of one of the most widespread technologies in recent times: the smartphone. Today, most Internet users access the web through this small mobile device. However, instead of thinking, as is usually done, that the smartphone is our way of accessing the Internet, here it is proposed to pay attention to the opposite: on the fact that smartphones are the way of access for digital corporations to the subjects, who constitute their source of profit.Drawing on critical social theory, one of the most notable correlates of the smartphonization of social life is investigated: the subsumption of the subject and his daily life to capital.
