Este ensayo describe el trabajo en el archivo de Héctor «Rayo» Puppo, con el material guardado por el artista del período comprendido entre 1956 y 1987 (etapa previa al surgimiento del grupo Escombros). El archivo incluye catálogos, folletos, artículos, fotografías, fotogramas, diapositivas, negativos, bocetos, gráfica y objetos, entre otros materiales. Se intentará, pues, reflexionar sobre la noción de archivo y la tarea del archivista.
This essay describes the work in Héctor «Rayo» Puppo’s archive, with the material kept by the artist from the period 1956-1987 (before the emergence of Escombros group). The archive includes catalogs, brochures, press articles, photographs, photograms, slides, negatives, sketches and objects, among other materials. It is thus suggested a reflection upon the task of the archivist and on the notion of archiving.
