El presente artículo se inscribe en el marco de la investigación denominada "El movimiento de reconceptuaiización del Trabajo Social en América Latina (Argentina, Brasil, Chile y Colombia): determinantes históricos, interlocuciones internacionales y memoria", coordinado por las profesoras doctoras Marilda Vilella lamamoto y Claudia Monica dos Santos registrada en el CNPq. Participan de esta investigación investigadores de América Latina y Europa. El artículo también recupera parte del contenido impartido por los autores en el “Seminario del Área Central” del doctorado en Trabajo Social, desarrollado los días 23 y 24 de mayo en la Universidad Nacional de La Plata. El objetivo de este artículo es exponer sobre la relación establecida entre el Trabajo Social y la tradición marxista y marxiana en América Latina. De esta forma partimos de algunos interrogantes: ¿Dónde se ubica la génesis del debate marxista en el Trabajo Social en América Latina? ¿Cuáles son sus principales características? ¿Cuál la pertinencia de este abordaje para pensar la realidad latinoamericana y el Trabajo Social en esa parte del continente?
This article falls within the framework of the research called “The Movement for the Reconceptualization of Social Work in Latin America (Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Colombia): historical determinants, international interlocutions and memory”, coordinated by PhD professors Marilda Vilella lamamoto and Claudia Monica dos Santos registered in the CNPq. Research researchers from Latin America and Europe participate. The article also recovers part of the content taught by the authors in the “Central Area Seminar” of the PhD in Social Work, held on May 23 and 24 at the National University of La Plata. The objective of this article is to present the relationship established between Social Work and the Marxist and Marxian tradition in Latin America. In this way we start from some questions: Where is the genesis of the Marxist debate in Social Work in Latin America? What are its main characteristics? What is the relevance of this approach to thinking about Latin American reality and Social Work in that part of the continent?
