Los astilleros y el puerto de La Seyne sur Mer (Var, Francia) : para la memoria de dos herencias, una histórica y otra efímera

Resumen: Seyne sur Mer, antigua ciudad portuaria industrial con sus astilleros cerrados en los años ochenta, está completando el borrado físico de este patrimonio, que sin embargo había construido la identidad de esta ciudad durante más de dos siglos. Además, desde su cierre, estos lugares han sido investidos por lo que primero se consideró vandalismo y que desde entonces ha pasado a formar parte de la historia del arte contemporáneo en un proceso de “artificación” (cf. el origen de este concepto entre los sociólogos del arte de los años 2000, en particular Nathalie Heinich): obras de grafiti y murales, ahora conocidas como “arte callejero” o “arte urbano”. Por lo tanto, son objeto de dos borraduras: una relacionada con la historia de un puerto y las industrias que conforman su paisaje, y la otra efímera relacionada con las obras que, por su parte, dieron nueva vida a estos lugares. En el marco de una labor transdisciplinaria (historia de la ciencia y la tecnología, historia del arte, antropología, ciencias de la información y la comunicación, arte y conservación del patrimonio) realizada a partir de los testimonios y archivos fotográficos y escritos de los actores de ambos campos (antiguos empleados de las obras y artistas), se planteó la cuestión de la conservación de estos archivos para salvaguardar la memoria de estos dos sitios del patrimonio. Presentamos aquí el estado actual de este trabajo y los primeros logros concretos que ha generado en Internet (documentos web, bases de datos, etc.), así como en proyectos concretos de demostración (exposiciones, eventos, etc.). Otro aspecto de este trabajo se mostrará brevemente: ¿qué ocurre con la indexación multimodal de las bases de datos en desarrollo para permitir su acceso a las consultas de los investigadores en la historia de la ciencia y la tecnología, la industria, las ciudades portuarias y la historia del arte?
Abstract: Seyne sur Mer, a former industrial port city with its shipyards closed in the 1980s, is completing the physical erasure of this heritage, which had nevertheless built the identity of this city for over two centuries. Moreover, since their closure, these places have been invested by what was first considered as vandalism and which has since become part of the history of contemporary art in a process of “ratification” (cf. the origin of this concept among art sociologists in the 2000s, in particular Nathalie Heinich,): graffiti and mural works, now known as “street art” or “urban art”. They are therefore the subject of two erasures: one heritage related to the history of a port and the industries that shaped its landscape, the other ephemeral related to the works that, for their part, gave new life to these places. Within the framework of a transdisciplinary work (history of science and technology, history of art, anthropology, science of information and communication, art and heritage conservation) carried out on the basis of the testimonies and photographic and written archives of the actors in both fields (former employees of the construction sites and artists), the question of the conservation of these archives to safeguard the memory of these two heritage sites was raised. We present here the current state of this work and the first concrete achievements it has generated on the Internet (web-documents, databases, etc.) as well as in concrete demonstration projects (exhibitions, events, etc.). Another aspect of this work will be briefly shown: what about the multimodal indexing of databases under development to allow their access for queries from researchers in the history of science and technology, industry, port cities, and art history.
