Cartago y Alejandro. El problemático rastreo de unas relaciones

Summary: The aim of this paper is to analyze the bond of Carthage with the figure of Alexander the Great. In order to accomplish it, this study tracks the scarce but important information preserved in classic sources in order to analyze them and contextualize their data. The study will mainly focus on the following scenarios: the siege of Tyre in 332 BC, the alleged Carthaginian espionage on Alexander’s ranks and the diplomatic parish received by the Macedonian in 323 BC in Babylon. Moreover, it will also briefly address the Hypomnemata and the Last Plans. Finally, concise conclusions are drawn that refute Alexander’s traditional hostile thinking and anti- Carthaginian approach.
Resumen: El objetivo del presente artículo es analizar el vínculo de Cartago con la figura de Alejandro Magno. Para la consecución de dicho objetivo, este estudio rastrea la escasa pero importante información conservada en las fuentes clásicas para analizar y contextualizar la información aportada. El estudio se centrará principalmente en los siguientes escenarios: el asedio de Tiro en el 332 a.C., el supuesto espionage cartaginés en las filas de Alejandro y las embajadas diplomáticas recibidas por el macedonio en el 323 a.C. en Babilonia. Además, también se abordarán brevemente los Hypomnemata y los Últimos Planes. Finalmente, se aportan unas concisas conclusiones que desmienten el tradicional pensamiento hostil y enfoque anti-cartaginés de Alejandro.
