Resumen: el autor considera en su artículo el capítulo VI del documento papal, titulado “El desarrollo de los pueblos y la técnica”. El artículo concibe al desarrollo humano como parte de un llamado trascendental, que debe evitar una idea de autosuficiencia que hace peligrar la búsqueda de los sentidos últimos. La Caritas in veritate hace un llamado a que la eficiencia y la utilidad no sean el único criterio de juicio y se integren en el marco de una tradición sapiencial abierta a la pregunta por la verdadera finalidad.
Abstract: The author considers in his article the Chapter VI of the papal document, entitled “The development of people and technology”. The article sees human development as a part of a transcendent call which must avoid the self-sufficiency that endangers the search for ultimate meanings. Caritas in veritate claims that efficiency and utility should not be the only judgement criterion and should be integrated into the framework of a tradition of wisdom open to the question for true purpose.
