Feminicidio : interrogación al cuerpo roto de Cristo

Resumen: Este artículo sostiene que el feminicidio, como crucifixión contemporánea que torna visible el cuerpo roto de Cristo, exige que re-imaginemos el cuerpo místico de Cristo de modo tal que ofrezca una historia de esperanza creíble. Para asumir esta tarea, debemos primero clarificar el significado de “feminicidio” y reconocer su escalada en los diferentes países de América Latina. Si bien los feminicidios de Ciudad Juárez han sido los más estudiados, éstos también ocurren en Guatemala, Honduras, Perú y Argentina, entre otros países. Dichos feminicidios exigen la atención de la teología hoy. En segundo lugar, examinaremos en qué sentido estos asesinatos son crucifixiones y un ejemplo del cuerpo roto de Cristo; y qué diferencia representa el hecho de promover estas afirmaciones teológicas. La sección final de este trabajo considera el significado que tiene el re-imaginar el cuerpo místico de Cristo de modo tal que haga plausible la esperanza.
Abstract: This article considers feminicide as a contemporary crucifixion, in which the broken Body of Christ reveals itself, and requires that we re-imagine the mystical Body of Christ in a way that may offer a credible story of hope. To take up this task, we must first make clear the significance of feminicide and its growth in the different Latin American countries. Though feminicides in Ciudad Juarez have been the most widely studied, this also happens in Guatemala, Honduras, Peru, and Argentina, amongst other countries. These feminicides demand theology’s attention today. Secondly, we shall look through in which way these assassinations are crucifixions and examples of the broken Body of Christ, and what difference the fact of promoting these theological statements represents. The last section of this work considers the significance of re-imagining the mystic body of Christ in a way that makes hope plausible.
