Una nueva fase en la teología ibero-americana? : ¿un salto hacia el futuro de la teología en castellano?

Resumen: Del 6 al 10 de febrero de 2017, se celebró en el Boston College, Universidad de la Compañía de Jesús en Boston, Estados Unidos de América, el Primer Encuentro Iberoamericano de Teología. Este artículo contiene la ponencia inaugural que planteó una cuestión transversal al simposio, cuyo tema fue “El presente y el futuro de una teología iberoamericana inculturada en tiempos de tiempos de globalización, interculturalidad y exclusión”. La quaestio introductoria analiza la primera parte del enunciado del programa: Presente y futuro de una teología iberoamericana inculturada. El autor se pregunta: ¿estamos en los inicios y somos protagonistas de una nueva fase en el desarrollo de la teología ibero-latino-americana? ¿En el siglo XXI queremos dar un salto hacia adelante en la reflexión teológica entre latinoamericanos, españoles y latinos/hispanos en Norteamérica? ¿Qué puede hacer la teología, sobre todo aquella pensada, dicha y escrita en castellano o español, en este momento histórico? Ya en 2008 Galli propuso hablar sobre el futuro iberoamericano de la teología en castellano, horizonte que se puede ampliar a la lengua portuguesa y a la disciplina filosófica en ambos lados del Atlántico. Esta tarea requiere un admirable intercambio entre muchas personas e instituciones que forman la comunidad teológica para que nuestra teología sea más significativa. Este ensayo elabora la cuestión desde cinco perspectivas: la historia de la teología en nuestra región (1); la inculturación teológica intercultural a la luz del Concilio Vaticano II (2); el kairós del pontificado reformador y misionero de Francisco (3); el desafío de hacer teología en las lenguas ibéricas, en especial a través de la mediación lingüística y cultural del castellano (4); la forma de hacer una teología teologal e histórica que lea los nuevos signos de los tiempos (5). El despliegue sucesivo de estas etapas llevará a nuevas formulaciones de la cuestión.
Abstract: From February 6 to 10, 2017, the First Ibero American Meeting of Theology was held at Boston College, USA. The opening lecture follows. The issue it raised crossed through the whole symposium, called “Present and future of an inculturated Ibero American theology in times of globalization, interculturality and exclusion”. The opening quaestio analyzes the first part of the program: Present and future of an inculturated Ibero American theology. The Author asks: Are we at the beginning, are we protagonists of a new phase of Ibero Latin American theology development? Do we intend to leap forward in theological reflection among Latin American, Spanish and Hispanic theologians in North America? What can theology do at this historical moment, particularly theology thought, spoken, and written in Spanish? As far back as 2008 Galli suggested to focus on the future of Ibero American Spanish speaking theology. A frame that could be broadened to Portuguese language as well as philosophy at both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. This task requires a remarkable exchange among people and institutions of theological community in order to be meaningful. This essay tackles the issue from five points of view: history of theology in our region (I); theological interculturation based on II Vatican Council (2); Francis’s providential missionary and reforming pontificate as an opportunity (kairós)(3); the challenge of a theology in Ibero languages –particularly through the linguistic and cultural mediation of Spanish (4); the way of doing a new theologal and historical theology in order to read new signs of the times (5). Developing these steps will lead to new ways to face and formulate the issue.
