Charlotte Delbo : hospitalidad como resistencia, belleza y memoria en los campos de la muerte

Resumen: El siguiente artículo busca poner de relieve el pensamiento y la praxis de la activista y escritora francesa Charlotte Delbo. El 24 de enero de 1943, junto a doscientas treinta mujeres, Charlotte es deportada a Auschwitz. Su testimonio deja entrever no solo el horror de la barbarie, conocido por tantos escritores y sobrevivientes, sino, y aquí radica su importancia y originalidad, en la humanidad que ella pudo ofrecer y descubrir. Probablemente por su exquisita sensibilidad y, aventuramos, por su ser mujer, Charlotte Delbo testimonia una esperanza humana contra todo, la belleza de las relaciones y la maravilla de los detalles cuando la vida peligra. Nos adentramos en su testimonio a partir de la trilogía Auschwitz et après para verificar cómo el odio, la violencia y el abuso (el mal) no son capaces de destruir la belleza que el ser humano porta. En el campo, Charlotte Delbo se transforma en una figura de hospitalidad y nos permite comprender la fuerza de la resistencia y de la compañía de un otro. El estudio se enmarca en lo que podríamos llamar una “ética de la esperanza”. En tiempos de catástrofes eco-sociales, son los testimonios del margen, los relatos de resistencia y las vidas sufridas, donde encontramos semillas para seguir esperando y trabajando en la construcción de la justicia y la paz. Sin duda la vida de Charlotte Delbo constituye una pieza clave, tan llena de lucidez como de belleza, en una época herida –la de ella; y la nuestra.
Abstract: This article wants to show the thought and praxis of Charlotte Delbo, activist and French writer. The January 24th of 1943, together with two hundred and thirty women, Charlotte is deported to Auschwitz. Her testimony let us see the horror of the barbaric that so many survivors and writers have shown. But what is interesting for us is its originality to express her humanity in that space. Probably because of her exquisite sensibility and, as we argue, because she is a woman. Charlotte Delbo can share hope against everything, share the beauty of human relations and the wonder of details when life is in danger. We enter in her experience from the trilogy Auschwitz et après to verify that hate, violence and abuse (the evil) cannot destroy the beauty that humans have inside. In the field, Charlotte Delbo became a figure of hospitality that allows us to understand the force of resistance and the power of the other. This study may be part of what we can call an “ethic of hope”. In times of eco-social catastrophes are the experiences of marginalized ones, the stories of resistance and suffering lives where we can find seeds to keep waiting and keep working for justice and peace. Without question the life, the clarity and the beauty of Charlotte Delbo is fundamental, to face an injured epoch -hers and ours.
