Turismo religioso : Análisis de peregrinación al Santuario de Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Río Blanco y Paypaya en la provincia de Jujuy - 2018

En la localidad de Río Blanco, ubicada en el departamento de Palpalá, Provincia de Jujuy, el Santuario de la Virgen del Rosario de Río Blanco y Paypaya es el sitio al cual acuden los peregrinos para manifestar su fe y devoción, apareciendo con una tenue pero no menor importancia, un concepto más mundano y terrenal: el Turismo Religioso, el cual presenta como elemento diferenciador de los demás tipos de turismo que el prin- cipal motivo de desplazamiento es la fe. El uso de herramientas metodológicas destinadas a un análisis exploratorio, de enfoque cualitativo y carácter descriptivo, permitieron un estudio de la Peregrinación desarrollada en el mencionado Santuario, conduciendo a hacer una aproximación al interés que tiene el Sector Público a través del tratamiento de Peregrinación en los medios; a conocer y describir los servicios turísticos con los que cuenta la localidad de Río Blanco; la opinión del Clero y de la comunidad religiosa del Santuario. A través de la recopilación de conceptos y definiciones, vertidas en el marco teórico, sumadas a las técnicas de recopilación de datos sobre el fenómeno (cuestionarios a la comunidad religiosa), la entrevista cualitativa al principal representante del Clero en el Santuario, la observación cualitativa en el lugar del evento y el registro de material docu- mental de la Peregrinación, todos ellos detallados en el presente trabajo, llevaron a de- terminar que la Peregrinación al Santuario de Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Rio Blanco y Paypaya realizada en el año 2018, todavía no se desarrolla como un evento de Turismo Religioso y presenta un carácter más local. No obstante, se observó la importancia creciente de la Peregrinación, la cual excede los límites del ámbito religioso, involucrando al Sector Público, situándola en un lugar que probablemente la constituya a futuro en objeto de proyectos e investigaciones tendientes a lograr que la misma tenga un potencial turístico y se la pueda identificar dentro del con - cepto de Turismo Religioso. In the town of Río Blanco, located in the Department of Palpalá, Province of Jujuy, the Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Rosary of Río Blanco and Paypaya is the place where pilgrims come to manifest their faith and devotion, appearing with a faint but non less importance, a more mundane and earthly concept: Religious Tourism, which presents, as a differentiating element from other types of tourism, faith as the main reason for dis - placement. The use of methodological tools for an exploratory analysis, using a qualitative and des- criptive approach, allowed the study of the Pilgrimage to the aforementioned Sanctuary, leading to an approximation to the Public Sector’s interest in it, through the treatment of Pilgrimage in the media; to know and describe the tourist services the town of Río Blanco may offer; and to discover the opinion of the Clergy and the religious community of the Sanctuary. Through the collection of concepts and definitions, exposed in the theoretical fra - mework, along with the techniques for data gathering on the phenomenon (question- naires to the religious community), the qualitative interview with the Sanctuary’s Clergy main representative, the qualitative observation in the event location and the documen- tary material record of the Pilgrimage, data that is detailed in the following work, led to determine that the Pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Rosary of Río Blanco and Paypaya, carried out in 2018, is still not developed as a Religious Tourism event and presents a more local character. Nonetheless, the growing importance of the Pilgrimage was noted, exceeding the limits of the religious sphere and involving the Public Sector, being likely to constitute future research projects tending to find it’s touristic potential and being identified within the concept of Religious Tourism.
