Representaciones sociales sobre la experiencia migratoria de migrantes mexicanos residentes en la ciudad de Salta, Argentina : Vivir entre dos culturas

La presente investigación se encuadra dentro del campo de la Psicología Social. Se trata de una investigación cualitativa de alcance exploratorio y descriptivo, cuyo objetivo es analizar las representaciones sociales que sobre la experiencia migratoria tienen los inmigrantes mexicanos residentes en la ciudad de Salta, Provincia de Salta, Argentina. En este estudio, la Teoría de las Representaciones Sociales constituye la clave conceptual y vector de la investigación. Se trabajó con 12 participantes (8 mujeres y 4 hombres) originarios y provenientes de distintos estados de México, mayores de edad, que tienen como mínimo un año de residencia en esta ciudad. Como instrumentos para la recolección de datos se utilizaron entrevistas semi-estructuradas en base a bloques temáticos, entrevistas a informantes clave y bitácora de campo. Se pudo confirmar la vigencia de la teoría de las representaciones sociales para el abordaje del conocimiento práctico que comparten determinados grupos sociales. Los resultados alcanzados elucidan cómo es pensada y significada colectivamente la experiencia migratoria así como la incidencia que sus representaciones sociales tiene en la toma de decisiones y comportamientos sociales. The following work belongs to the field of the Social Psychology. It is a qualitative investigation with an exploratory and descriptive scope. Its purpose was to analyze the social representations about the migratory experience of Mexicans immigrants in the city of Salta, Argentina. The theory of the Social Representations was the conceptual foundation and the key of the study. Twelve participants were involved (8 women and 4 men) all of them Mexican immigrants of legal age, with a minimum of a year of living in the city. Semi-directed interviews based on main concepts, interviews to key informants and the field logbook were used as instruments of data extraction. In this sense we were able to validate the theory of the Social Representations regarding the practical knowledge shared by some social groups. The obtained results show how the migratory experience is thought and felt by the collective of people involved. The investigation did also display how social representations, that are built on this immigrating occurrence, affect the way people make decisions and their social behaviors.
