El ser humano, tal como fue pensado en la Ilustración, se halla en un estado de fragmentación y descomposición que anuncia el final de esa manera de entenderlo. Tal diagnóstico es enunciado, entre otros, por Thomas Mann y Theodor W. Adorno en el trabajo conjunto que realizan en la novela Dr. Faustus.Sin embargo, en la consumación de esta debacle, tal vez el ser humano quede libera-do de las ataduras del formalismo racional para recuperarse en una visión más integral y humanista de sí mismo. Este desafío es el que nos queda a la generación actual.
The human being, as it was thought in the Enlightenment, is in a state of fragmentation and decomposition that announces the end of that way of understanding it. Such a diagnosis is enunciated, among others, by Thomas Mann and Theodor W. Adorno in the joint work they do in the novel Dr. Faustus.However, in the consummation of this debacle, perhaps the human being is freed from the bonds of rational formalism to recover in a more integral and humanistic view of himself. This challenge is what we have left to the current generation.
