La utilización del término ´intelectual´ referido a las sociedades pre-modernas no solo puede resultar equívoco, sino en muchos casos hasta anacrónico, por lo cual, en este trabajo me propongo evaluar críticamente el concepto para, a partir de allí, establecer criterios de aplicación válidos para el mundo antiguo.
The use of the term ‘intellectual’ for the premodern societies can be misleading and often anachronistic. Therefore, in this paper I propose to critically evaluate the concept to establish valid criteria for the ancient world.
