La Guerra Civil Española se presenta como un proceso histórico con una importantísima repercusión internacional en el siglo XX. En Argentina, a la relevancia política, social y cultural que significó aquel conflicto bélico, se sumaron las expectativas que tenían del mismo la comunidad de inmigrantes españoles y sus descendientes. Éstas se combinaron con las distintas opiniones políticas de los receptores que se encolumnaron en la defensa de algunos de los bandos en pugna. Hacia fines de la década de 1930 se vivió una febril actividad en pos de la guerra en España de la que la ciudad de Rosario, por ejemplo, fue un claro escenario. Desde encuentros políticos, sindicales, intelectuales y culturales, hasta la conformación de entidades ligadas a la solidaridad internacional, se llevaron a cabo una serie de prácticas y representaciones que disputaron el escenario público y construyeron un imaginario antifascista.
The Spanish Civil War is presented as a historical process with a very important international repercussion in the 20th century. In Argentina, in addition to the political, social and cultural relevance of that war, there were the expectations of the Spanish immigrant community and their descendants. These were combined with the different political opinions of the recipients who were aligned in the defense of some of the warring sides. Towards the end of the 1930s there was a feverish activity in pursuit ofthe war in Spain of which the city of Rosario, for example, was a clear scenario. From political, trade union, intellectual and cultural meetings, to the formation of entities linked to international solidarity, a series of practices and representations took place that disputed the public scene and built an anti-fascist imaginary.
