Las negociaciones por las Islas Malvinas: El lobby isleño y los hidrocarburos

El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo analizar las relaciones bilaterales entre la Argentina y el Reino Unido en el período 1966-1982, durante la etapa previa al conflicto bélico, en relación a la cuestión de las Islas Malvinas. Al mismo tiempo, se hace foco en la influencia del lobby isleño sobre la política británica hacia Malvinas y sus repercusiones en las negociaciones con la Argentina. Se destaca, también, que la cuestión de los hidrocarburos fue un factor clave en la etapa estudiada. El diseño metodológico es de tipo cualitativo. Este trabajo toma como fuentes primarias las Declaraciones suscriptas entre la Argentina y el Reino Unido, documentos publicados por el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y Culto de la Argentina. En cuanto a las fuentes secundarias, fueron consultados libros, publicaciones académicas y de investigación vinculadas al tema. A modo de conclusión, señalamos que el accionar del lobby isleño y las cuestiones relacionadas con los hidrocarburos han incidido sobre las negociaciones anglo-argentinas relativas a la soberanía.
The aim of this paper is to analyze the bilateral relations between Argentina and the United Kingdom in the period 1966-1982, during the pre-war period, in relation question of the Malvinas Islands. At the same time, focus is placed on the influence of the island lobby, mainly formed by the island committee and the Malvinas islands company, on British policy towards the Malvinas and its repercussions on relations with Argentina. In line with this, the issue of hydrocarbons was a key factor in the stage studied. The methodological design is qualitative. This work takes as primary sources the Declarations subscribed between Argentina and the United Kingdom, documents published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship of Argentina. As for secondary sources, books, academic and research publications related to the topic addressed were consulted. By way of conclusion, we note that the actions of the island lobby and the issues related to hydrocarbons have influenced the Anglo-Argentine negotiations regarding sovereignty.
