- Descripción
- Argentina has a long-standing tradition in translation training. This article has two purposes. On the one hand, it seeks to describe four translation training models prevailing in Argentinean universities, especially at Comahue, Córdoba and La Plata universities. The application of such models will be discussed in relation to the foreign-language training of students prior to and throughout undergraduate education. On the other hand, I will present a translation training model with a view to develop research skills in students, which might foster undergraduate education in research. The urgency to build up a research competence in students is backed up by the fact that Translation Studies is at present a vacant research area in the country.
