El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la influencia de la orientación teórico-técnica en el estilo personal del terapeuta. Se estudió a 60 psicoterapeutas, pertenecientes a las orientaciones psicoanalítica, cognitiva e integrativa. Se administró el Cuestionario de Evaluación del Estilo Personal Terapéutico (EPT-C) de Fernández-Álvarez y García (1998) y una entrevista exploratoria sobre orientación y desempeño, elaborada para el presente estudio. Para evaluar la influencia de la orientación teórico-técnica sobre el estilo personal del terapeuta se realizó el análisis multivariado de la varianza (MANOVA). Los resultados obtenidos muestran diferencias estadísticamente significativas en el estilo personal del terapeuta según la orientación teórico-técnica, mostrándose un perfil característico según sean psicoanalíticos, cognitivos o integrativos. Estos resultados cobran relevancia para la práctica profesional del psicoterapeuta.
This study aims at assessing the influence of the theoretical-technical orientation in the personal style of the therapist. 60 psychotherapists from psychoanalytic, cognitive and integrative orientation were studied. The Assessment of Personal Style of the Therapist Questionnaire (PST-Q) of Fernández-Álvarez & García (1998) and an exploratory interview about orientation and performance created for this study were administered. To assess the influence of the theoretical-technical orientation over the personal styles of the therapist, the multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was used. The obtained results show statistically significant differences in the personal styles of the therapist according to theoretical-technical orientation, showing a characteristic profile if the orientation is psychoanalytic, cognitive or integrative. The results are especially relevant for the psychotherapist professional practice.
