Fisonomía de un semanario socialista: La Vanguardia, 1894-1905

La caracterización de La Vanguardia como el periódico más destacado del socialismo argentino y como una de las empresas más importantes de la red de instituciones sostenidas por el partido ha sido recurrente en la historiografía. No obstante, la historia de este periódico como problemática en sí misma no ha recibido una atención acorde a esta caracterización. En el presente artículo, atiendo a la evolución del sistema de secciones de La Vanguardia entre su aparición como semanario en 1894 y su transformación en diario matutino en 1905, con el objetivo de mostrar cuáles fueron las funciones que sus editores asignaron al periódico y qué imágenes del lector se forjaron en sus páginas.
Characterization of La Vanguardia as the most prominent Argentine Socialist newspaper and as one of the most important enterprises in the network of institutions supported by the party has recurred within historiography. However, the history of this newspaper as a problematic in itself has not received attention according to this characterization.
