El surgimiento de nuevas tecnologías como Internet de las cosas y computaciónen la nube, ha impulsado fuertemente la industria manufacturera, abriendo las puertasa un mundo de posibilidades mucho más amplio y dando entrada a lo que muchosconsideran como la cuarta revolución industrial. Es aquí donde aparece fuertemente elconcepto de Cloud Manufacturing (CMfg). En este trabajo se presentará una breveintroducción de dicho concepto, así como sus principales características y suslimitaciones actuales que atraen la atención de los investigadores. Finalmente sepresentará una potente herramienta en desarrollo llamada Eclipse Basyx y seintroducirán sus principales características.
The emergence of new technologies such as the Internet of Things and cloud computing has strongly boosted the manufacturing industry, opening the doors to a much broader world of possibilities and ushering in what many consider to be the fourth industrial revolution. This is where the concept of Cloud Manufacturing (CMfg) arises. In this work a brief introduction of CMfg will be presented, as well as its main characteristics and current limitations that attract the attention of researchers. Finally, a powerful development tool called Eclipse Basyx will be presented and its main features will be introduced.
