Este artículo estudia el papel que los procesos judiciales tuvieron en la resolución de las disputas de la elite dirigente en el Río de la Plata durante el período 1810-1820. Se explora su sustanciación en tres escenarios posibles de conflicto: frente a conspiraciones, tumultos y sublevaciones que representaron una amenaza al poder central; como derivación de derrotas militares; y con motivo de evaluar el desempeño de gobernantes que habían cesado en sus funciones para determinar sus responsabilidades políticas.
This article studies the role that judicial processes had in the resolution of the disputes of the ruling elite in the Río de la Plata during the period 1810-18120. Its substantiation is explored in three possible scenes: in the face of conspiracies, tumults and mutinies that represented a threat to the central power; as a derivation of military defeats; and for evaluating the performance of governors who had ceased their functions to determinate their political responsibilities.
