El barro en la zapatilla: un punto de partida para pensar mujeres, barrio e inundaciones

El siguiente artículo tiene como propósito analizar la relación que construyen las mujeres con un barrio como es LaVuelta del Paraguayo (LVDP) de la ciudad de Santa Fe, Argentina. LVDP es un barrio ribereño que se localiza enel valle aluvial del río Paraná y tiene la peculiaridad de que cíclicamente sufre inundaciones. La problemática seinscribe dentro del campo de estudio de espacio y género y parte de entender que los lugares no son neutros, quese reproducen relaciones de desigualdad y que el “género” no solo interactúa con estructuras etarias, de clase, desexualidad, sino que también implica la relación con la naturaleza. Para abordar este objetivo realizamos entrevistasetnográficas (Spradley, 1979) a informantes clave para indagar cuáles son las percepciones acerca de lo que suponevivir en un barrio con estas características. Cabe aclarar, que cuando hablemos de mujeres en la investigaciónnos referiremos a mujeres cis que habitan/residen en LVDP. Entre los principales hallazgos observamos que lascondiciones de desigualdad en las que se encuentran inmersas las mujeres de LVDP varían de acuerdo a los ciclosdel río, es decir, si está bajo o si hay inundación.
The purpose of the following article is to analyze the relationship that women build with a neighborhood such as La Vuelta del Paraguayo (LVDP) in the city of Santa Fe, Argentina. LVDP is a riverside neighborhood that is located in the alluvial valley of the Paraná River and has the peculiarity that it cyclically suffers flooding. The problem falls within the field of study of space and gender and starts from understanding that places are not neutral, that relations of inequality are reproduced, and that “gender” not only interacts with age, class, and sexuality structures, but also it also implies the relationship with nature. To address this objective, we conducted ethnographic interviews (Spradley, 1979) with key informants to find out what their perceptions are about what it means to live in a neighborhood with these characteristics. It should be clarified that when we talk about women in the research we are referring to cis women who live/reside in LVDP. Among the main findings, we observe that the unequal conditions in which LVDP women are immersed varies according to the cycles of the river, that is, if it is low or if there is flooding.
