Discurso, sujeto y subjetividad: Hacia una crítica materialista de la categoría de Ethos

El artículo presenta una revisión de la categoría de ethos haciendo un contrapunto con la teoría materialista del discurso desarrollada por Michel Pêcheux. Al respecto, propone que las teorías enunciativas centradas en el ethos le otorgan cierta soberanía al “yo” enunciador. No obstante, en “Las verdades evidentes” las aproximaciones centradas en lx “hablante” o “enunciadorx” se problematizan y se señala que resulta necesario explicar el modo en que se efectúa la interpelación individuo como sujeto de su discurso. Cobra relevancia, entonces, la formulación de una teoría del Interdiscurso. Esto implica, también, poner atención a la teoría psicoanalítica, específicamente, a la reflexión sobre la dimensión imaginaria que permite comprender cómo se constituye el sujeto como “sujeto del discurso”. Así, más que cerrar un debate, se explora la teoría materialista del discurso y formula algunas preguntas que resulta preciso pensar.
The article presents a review of the category of ethos, making a counterpoint with the materialist theory of discourse developed by Michel Pêcheux. In this regard, he proposes that enunciative theories centered on ethos grant a certain sovereignty to the enunciating “I”. However, in Les vérités de la Palice ([1975] 2016) the approaches centered on the “speaker" or “enunciatorx” are problematized and it is pointed out that it is necessary to explain the way in which the individual interpellation is carried out as the subject of his speech. The formulation of a theory of Interdiscourse becomes relevant, then. This also implies paying attention to psychoanalytic theory, specifically, to reflection on the imaginary dimension that allows us to understand how the subject is constituted as a “subject of discourse”. Thus, rather than closing a debate, the materialist theory of discourse is explored and asks some questions that need to be thought through.
