We collected a queen specimen ofDiscothyrea neotropica (Bruch 1919) in a pitfall trap in Paititi NaturalReserve, southestern Buenos Aires province, Argentina. The new record represents the most southermost occurrence for this species and extends its habitat pteferences to a humid temperate climate. Our record of D. neotropicais te first in Argentina since 1949
