La lectura de Cayetano sobre lo bello : límites y proyecciones

No hay duda que la belleza ha constituido para los medievales uno de esos topoi de reflexión filosófico-teológicos que muestran su exquisita especulación. Tal es el caso de Tomás de Aquino quien en breves pero condensadas afirmaciones ha cifrado tanto la especulación tradicional cuanto su propio genio al respecto. Sin embargo, tales afirmaciones han llegado al tiempo presente mediadas por importantes comentadores, como Tomás de Vio quien constituye un lugar de paso obligatorio al momento de comprender ciertas interpretaciones propuestas por el tomismo contemporáneo. Aplicado a la belleza, Cayetano la explica como una species boni. El presente trabajo se ocupará, entonces, tanto de la validez de dicha interpretación a la luz de los otros textos del Aquinate cuanto de su influencia en los pensadores del siglo XX.
There is no doubt that the beauty has been for the medieval authors one of those topoi of philosophical reflection theological who show their exquisite speculation. This is the case of Thomas Aquinas who in short but condensed assertions has both the traditional speculation regarding its own genius. However, such statements have come to the present time mediated by important commentators, such as Thomas de Vio who is a place of mandatory step at the time to understand certain interpretations proposed by the contemporary philosophy. Applied to the beauty, Cayetano explained it as a species boni. The present work will pay attention, then, both of the validity of suchan interpretation in the light of the other texts of Aquinas as its influence in the thinkers of the twentieth century.
