La presencia del <i>αγων</i> en IV Macabeos

El ἀγών constituye uno de los fenómenos característicos de la antigua Grecia, presente en los certámenes atléticos, teatros, tribunales. Nuestra ponencia propone una reflexión acerca de este hecho descripto en IV Macabeos (Septuaginta). La obra describe la torturas infligidas por Antíoco IV Epífanes (175-164 a.C) a un anciano, siete jóvenes y su madre, obligados a transgredir las leyes mosaicas que prohibían la ingestión de carne de cerdo. La narración en la que abundan los diálogos, y la contemplación de los hechos por los testigos, crean una escena de ἀγών, en el cual los personajes sometidos a tortura exponen sus firmes convicciones sin ceder en modo alguno ante un poder autoritario. Esta situación se presenta como un espectáculo en el que las partes intentan convencer a sus oponentes y al público de la veracidad de sus convicciones al mismo tiempo que suscitan sentimientos de φόβος y ἔλεος, habituales en representaciones trágicas.
The ἀγών is one of the characteristic phenomena of the old Greece, present in the athletic contests, theaters, tribunals constitutes. Our report proposes a reflection about this fact in IV Macabeos (Septuaginta). The work describes the tortures inflicted by Antíoco IV Epífanes (175-164 to.C) to an old man, seven youths and their mother, forced to transgress the mosaic laws that prohibited the ingestion of pig meat. The narration in which are plentiful the dialogues, and the view of the facts for the witness, believe a scene of ἀγών, in which the subjected characters to torture expose their firm convictions without giving in way some in the face of an authoritarian power. This situation is presented as a show in which the parts try to convince at the same time their opponents and the public of the truthfulness of their convictions that they raise feelings of φόβος and ἔλεος, habitual in tragic representations.
