The Nahuel Niyeu Formation is a low-grade metamorphic unit consisting of alternating beds of metasedimentary rocks, derived from siliciclastic protoliths, with minor intercalation of metaigneous rocks. lt is part of the early Paleozoic basement of the eastern North Patagonian Massif. In this contribution, we present new U-Pb detrital zircon ages from three metagreywackes of the Aguada Cecilio area. New maximum depositional ages, together with previous geochronological data, allow us to constrain the depositional age of the siliciclastic protoliths of the Nahuel Niyeu Formation in the Aguada Cecilio area between 516.8-516.2 Ma and 513.6 Ma.
