Extending the Rational Unified Process for the Development of Web Applications

Tutorial Goal: Nowadays, due to the globalisation of the world's economy, more and more companies are migrating their corporate systems to Web-based platforms. In such a context, there is a significant demand for Web applications. From the Software Engineering point of view, Web-based applications have specific characteristics that must be handled in the development process. For this reason, it is necessary to do some adjustments in existing software development processes in order to give a better support for the development of these applications. Aiming the solution of this problem, this tutorial presents a proposal for extending the Rational Unified Process (RUP) in order to produce a better Analysis and Design Model for this kind of applications.
