QoSProxyServer – A new approach about WebQoS

Abstract. In this paper, we propose and evaluate a model of defining and distributing priorities among the different Web connections, using the JVM (Java Virtual Machine). We propose a QoS hybrid method with specific priorities distribution policy by overcoming the limitations of IP address and requested content type methods. It is shown that is possible obtain some benefits by providing a relative notion of QoS for a web-based service with JVM and without modifications within Kernel structures of the operating system. The QoS hybrid method can also be used to prevent Deny of Service.
