El universal concreto : consideraciones teológicas sobre la globalización

Resumen: El punto de partida del artículo es la dimensión universal del Evangelio, como fundamento de la universalidad del cristianismo. En la profundización de lo que esa universalidad pueda significar, se explora la distinción entre universalidad, como fundamento de la diferencia, y totalidad, como origen de uniformidad. Es a partir de ahí que, por una parte, se puede establecer una relación entre la vocación universal del cristianismo y el proceso de globalización, que supera el tribalismo reductor; y, por otra parte, se percibe que una globalización totalizante y uniformizante no corresponde al sentido cristiano de universalidad, que es personalizante y, por eso, diferenciadora, a partir del concreto personal y cultural.
Abstract: The starting point of the article is the universal dimension of the Gospel, as the foun- dation of the universality of Christianity. In the deepening of what this universality may mean, is explored the distinction between universality, as the basis of difference, and totality, as the origin of uniformity. It is from there that, on the one hand, a rela- tionship can be established between the universal vocation of Christianity and the process of globalization, which overcomes the reducing tribalism; and, on the other hand, it is perceived that a totalizing and uniformizing globalization does not corres- pond to the Christian sense of universality, which is personalizing and, therefore, dif- ferentiating, from personal and cultural concrete.
