Resumen: La presente ponencia tendrá como objetivo realizar un aporte en el análisis de la justificación onírica y astrológica que dan los escritores del siglo III de la era cristiana, principalmente Herodiano y Dion Casio, sobre la naturaleza del poder político que el primer emperador de la dinastía severa, Lucio Septimio Severo, obtuvo, a través de los sueños y presagios que dicho emperador afirmaba haber tenido. Para ello, trataré de dimensionar la circunstancia que dichas influencias as-trológicas y oníricas han tenido en hombres, que como los Severos, parecie-ran haberse sentido partícipes de influencias que desde tiempos inmemoria-les han deslumbrado e influenciado al hombre.
Abstract: This paper will to make a contribution for the analysis in dream and astrological justification given by the writers of the third century of the Christian era, mainly Herodian and Dion Cassius, on the nature of political power that the first emperor of the dynasty severe, Lucius Septimius Seve-rus, obtained through dreams and omens that the emperor claimed to have had. To do this, try to size the fact that these astrological influences and dream have been in men, such as Severe, appear to influence participants have felt that since time immemorial have been blinded and influenced by man.
