La dignidad humana como fundamento de una bioética global

Resumen: Para que la globalización no sea identificada con el nuevo orden mundial anticristiano, de carácter totalitario, debe asentarse en una ética fundada en la dignidad humana. Ilustro con palabras del Papa Francisco: “no podemos ignorar que la energía nuclear, la biotecnología, la informática, el conocimiento de nuestro propio ADN y otras capacidades que hemos adquirido nos dan un tremendo poder. Mejor dicho, dan a quienes tienen el conocimiento, y sobre todo el poder económico para utilizarlo, un dominio impresionante sobre el conjunto de la humanidad y del mundo entero. Nunca la humanidad tuvo tanto poder sobre sí misma y nada garantiza que vaya a utilizarlo bien, sobre todo si se considera el modo como lo está haciendo” (Ls,104). Se impone, por tanto, considerar una Ética que proponga la vivencia de las virtudes, particularmente la justicia, que tenga un fundamento antropológico centrado en la dignidad humana. Aquí hay que tener en cuenta, en orden de fundamentación, que no se tiene dignidad por ser persona sino que se recibe el nombre de persona por tener dignidad. En el desarrollo nos centraremos en el doble fundamento natural y teológico de esa dignidad.
Abstract: In order to prevent globalization from being identified with the new unchristian world order, with a totalitarian character, it must be founded on human dignity. I quote Pope Francis: “we cannot ignore the nuclear power, the biotechnology, the informatics, the knowledge of our own DNA and other capabilities we have acquired which give us a tremendous power. Or better said, they give those who have the knowledge and above all the economical power to use it an astonishing dominance over the whole world and the human kind. Never before, have mankind had so much power over itself and nothing guarantees that such power will be used properly, especially when we see the way it is being used” (Ls, 104). It is imperative, then, to consider a kind of Ethics which proposes the living out of the virtues, especially justice, which has an anthropological foundation focused on the human dignity. Here, it is worthy to say that a person has no dignity just for being a person but on the contrary, a person is called a person for having dignity. In the development of this work, we will focus on the double natural and theological foundation of such dignity.
