Resumen: Ismael Quiles (1906-1992) ha sido uno de los pensadores del siglo XX que intentó renovar la filosofía escolástica, en la que había sido formado, con la filosofía de su tiempo y, a su vez, con el pensamiento oriental que iniciaba su influencia decisiva en occidente a partir de mediados del siglo XX. Su pensamiento ha sido reiteradamente estudiado a partir de sus numerosas publicaciones y ha sido el punto de partida de mi investigación especial, en la cual destaco y acentúo los dos aspectos más importantes de su trayectoria filosófica: su filosofía in-sistencial y su acercamiento al pensamiento oriental, aspecto éste especialmente relevante para el proyecto pues según Quiles los pueblos de Iberoamérica son un puente, una conjunción de Oriente y Occidente. Es importante establecer el aporte de Quiles al diálogo intercultural: Oriente-Occidente yOriente culturas originarias. Para ello se trabaja en dos líneas, que responden a dos estrategias de abordaje diferentes aunque conectadas, por tratarse de testimonios: Por una parte, su propio testimonio, a partir de su Autobiografía. Por otra, los testimonios logrados a través de las entrevistas a gente que lo conoció personalmente o que ha tenido contacto con su obra, no siempre intelectuales, permitieron acceder a una comprensión más'“vital” de su pensamiento
Abstract: Ismael Quiles (1906-1992) was one of the thinkers of the twentieth century who tried to renew the scholastic philosophy in which he had been formed, with the philosophy'of his time and, in turn, with the Eastern thought that has been influencing the West decisively since mid-20th century. His thinking has been repeatedly studied from his numerous publications and is the starting point of my special research, in which I highlight and emphasize the two most important'aspects of his philosophical trajectory: his in-sistential philosophy'and his approach to oriental thought, an aspect that is especially relevant to the project because, according to Quiles, the people of Latin America are a bridge, a conjunction of East and West. It is important to establish the contribution of Quiles to intercultural dialogue: East-West and East-native cultures. In order to do this, we will be working on two lines, which respond to two different but connected approaches, since they are both testimonial: On the one hand, his own testimony,based on his Autobiographyk on the other hand, the testimonies obtained through interviews to people who knew him personally or who had contact with his work, not always intellectual ones, which have enabled the access to amore "vital" understanding of his thinking
