Mujeres en la Guerra del Chaco : su protagonismo en la retaguardia y en la vanguardia

Resumen: En el transcurso de los años 1932 y 1935, después de sesenta años de concluida la Guerra contra la Triple Alianza, el Paraguay volvió a enfrentarse en otro conflicto con Bolivia, por la posesión del territorio chaqueño. En esta contienda la mujer paraguaya no permaneció displicente, tuvo una activa participación en las tareas que generalmente eran privativas de varones tanto en la vanguardia y en la retaguardia. Se alistaron como enfermeras y acudieron al campo de batalla a trabajar en los hospitales; inclusive algunas demostraron su valor como soldados en el frente de guerra. Otras organizaron y dirigieron comisiones; trabajaron en los talleres y en las fábricas e intervinieron como Madrinas de Guerra. El objetivo de este trabajo es contribuir al conocimiento histórico la actuación de la mujer en la guerra del Chaco a través de un repertorio amplio de fuentes.
Abstract: In the course of the years 1932 and 1935, after sixty years of completed the great tragedy suffered in the war against the Triple Alliance, the Paraguay returned to fight in another conflict with Bolivia, for the possession of the Chaco territory. In this contest the Paraguayan woman remained not indifferent its presence was indispensable to develop tasks that were usually custodial men. Women of all classes were an exemplary role in the vanguard and the rearguard. They enlisted as nurses and attended the battle field to work in hospitals; some even showed their courage as soldiers, knowing that they could lose their lives. Others organized and headed committees; they worked in the workshops and factories and intervened as godmothers of Guerra. The essential objective of the work is to contribute with contributions relevant to the Social History of the region.
