Fil: El filósofo norteamericano Hilary Putnam defiende la tesis según la cual, el análisis tradicional del significado es insuficiente y, por tanto, la idea de que el significado obedece exclusivamente a la intencionalidad del hablante o que el significado sea equivalente a un estado mental es incorrecta. El autor establece una serie de condiciones que permiten fijar la extensión de un término; condiciones explicadas mediante la hipótesis de la división del Trabajo Lingüístico, con la que también propone una reconstrucción de la noción o significado del término “significado”. Este artículo revisa y explica la teoría del significado del pensador en cuestión.
Fil: The American philosopher Hilary Putman defends the thesis in which, the traditional analysis of the meaning is insufficient, so the idea that the meaning obeys exclusively to the intentionality of the speaker or that the meaning is equivalent to a mental state, is incorrect. The author establishes several conditions for fixing the extension of a term; conditions explained by the division of the linguistic work's hypothesis, which also proposes a reconstruction of the notion or the meaning of the word “meaning". This article checks and explains the theory of the meaning of the thinker.
