El prototipo de vivienda móvil Homeless Vehicle Project (Vehículo de los sin hogar) del artista polaco Krzysztof Wodiczko, de 1988-1989, es un importante ejemplo del vínculo entre la práctica de la arquitectura visionaria y una búsqueda de redefinición de la sociedad contemporánea. Este artículo propone observar el proyecto del artista polaco desde el punto de vista del desarrollo del concepto de arquitectura móvil en la historia de la arquitectura occidental de los años sesenta. La primera parte del artículo presenta un breve resumen de la teorización y de la puesta en práctica del concepto de hábitat móvil, dando cuenta de sus vínculos con las nuevas visiones y propuestas de la sociedad moderna. La segunda parte del artículo trata sobre el Homeless Vehicle Project de Wodiczko, entendido como una reactivación del concepto de arquitectura móvil en la sociedad contemporánea.
The prototype of the mobile home Homeless Vehicle Project by the Polish artist Krzysztof Wodiczko, from 1988-1989, is an important example of a linkage between the practice of visionary architecture and the search for redefinition of the contemporary society. The article aims to observe the project by the Polish artist from the perspective of the development of the concept of mobile architecture in the history of Western architecture from the 1960s. The first part of the text presents a brief summary of the mobile habitat concept’s theory and practice, and its relations with new visions and proposals of a modern society. The second part of the article discusses the Homeless Vehicle Project by Wodiczko, understood as an actualization of the concept of mobile architecture in the contemporary society.
