Una hipótesis inquietante: Levinas teólogo-político

A menudo se reduce la pregunta por el vínculo de teología y política a situaciones coyunturales y emergentes, ocluyendo así aspectos estructurales de esta relación. La tradición filosófica de la teología política fue capaz de formular una teoría de esta relación, que aún hoy muestra su influencia. El objetivo de este trabajo es indagar filosóficamente en qué medida la obra de Levinas, explícitamente refractario a teología y política, puede ubicarse en esa tradición al mantener estructuralmente algunos de sus aspectos esenciales. La excepción, la decisión y la escatología pueden identificarse en Levinas, quien opera sobre ellos una resignificación radical. Esta resignificación es valiosa en tanto que permite mantener las demandas de la teología política en un período donde no es pensable la unicidad religiosa ni axiológica, y donde la democracia se muestra menesterosa de una fundamentación que la oriente hacia las demandas de justicia e igualdad radical.
The question on the relationship of theology and politics is often reduced to circumstantial and emergent situations, thus hiding the structural aspects of this relationship. The philosophical tradition of political theology was able to formulate a theory of this relationship, which is influential even nowadays. The purpose of this essay is to research philosophically to what extent Levinas᾿ work, which is explicitly reluctant in front of theology and politics, may be placed within this tradition by structurally maintaining some of its essential aspects. Exception, decision and eschatology may be identified in Levinas, who resignifies them radically. This new meaning is powerful insofar it allows to keep the demands of political theology in a time where religious and axiological unity are not an option, and where democracy is in need of a foundation that may lead it towards the demands of radical justice and equality.
